If a potentially disqualifying conviction is identified, the applicant will receive a Preliminary Notice of Adverse Action that includes:
- The disqualifying conviction(s)
- A copy of the background check report
- Notice of the applicant’s right to respond and provide mitigating information
Applicants will be given an opportunity to submit evidence of rehabilitation, mitigating circumstances, or inaccuracies in the report. 24 Hour Home Care will consider this information and conduct a second individualized assessment before making a final employment decision.
If the conditional offer of employment is withdrawn, the applicant will receive a Final Adverse Action Notice.
Individuals who believe their rights under the ordinance have been violated may file a complaint with the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs.
